Hotmail security: 25% of users remember secret questions
Just 25 percent of Hotmail users with a secret security question -- you know, like, "What is my mother's maiden name?" -- actually remember their answers.

Firm: Yep, enterprise cloud computing is growing
If your company provides IT services -- ahem, Microsoft -- listen up. About 10 percent of worldwide spending on outsourced IT is going to cloud computing, according to research firm Gartner, and that slice will grow.

Apple, Apple, Apple. That's all we seem to hear about today, right? Apple's doing this, Apple's releasing that. Oh, and a bunch of Google, Twitter and Facebook news, too. Right?

Last year, Microsoft employees tweeted their hearts out from the annual company meeting at Safeco Field in Seattle. So much so that Microsoft, for today's event, prohibited employees from tweeting.

HP abandons Android for own WebOS on tablets
No huge surprise here: Hewlett-Packard has opted to use only its newly acquired Palm operating system, WebOS, on future smart phones and tablet computers, the Financial Times reports. Jon Rubinstein, the former Palm CEO who stayed on at HP, told the FT that his new company is on track to release a WebOS tablet early next year. The computer maker also has its Windows 7-based Slate, which still will ship sooner.

Acquisitions in 2010: Google, 23; Microsoft, 0 (but really?)
According to analysis firm CB Insights, Google has announced 23 acquisitions so far this year. Meanwhile, Microsoft has announced none in the past nine months.
