Second Amtrak Cascades train to B.C. in jeopardy
A second daily Amtrak Cascades train between Portland and Vancouver, B.C., may have to be canceled because the Canadian government wants the Washington state Transportation Department to pay $550,000 per year for extra customs services at the border.

Seattle chooses NY design firm for new waterfront
The urban design firm that transformed an old elevated railroad track into a celebrated New York City park has been selected as the lead designer for Seattle's central waterfront after the Alaskan Way Viaduct is knocked down in 2016.
