Reminder: Windows Phone 7 event Monday morning
I'll be covering live the joint Microsoft-AT&T Windows Phone 7 event Monday, during which the companies are expected to announce the release date of phones running Microsoft's new mobile operating system.

IBM: Mobile apps to 'dominate' enterprise by 2015
Mobile applications will surpass traditional platforms in the enterprise market by 2015 as the popularity of smart phones and tablets continues to surge, IBM predicts.

Technical fellow Lovering leaves Microsoft after 22 years
Brad Lovering, a technical fellow who had been with Microsoft since 1988, left the company this week for "personal reasons." Microsoft confirmed his Oct. 2 departure on his online bio. Lovering most recently led the Connected System Division's Architecture and Advanced Development team, including work on "Oslo" modeling, BizTalk Server and Active Directory. He also worked on Microsoft's Web Services standards, the .NET Framework and Visual Studio.NET. Via ZDNet

Report: Microsoft shutters in-game ad unit Massive
Despite saying in May that the effectiveness of in-game advertisements blew away expectations, Microsoft reportedly is shuttering its Massive video-game advertising unit four years after acquiring it.

Microsoft has killed Live Labs, a group that developed data visualization products such as Photosynth and Pivot, and is reorganizing the team of 68 under Bing.
